‘Talk Less’ is a book available both in print and digital format which chronicles 10 years of the dedicated underground DIY label in Australia. It’s filled with candid and intense photos of shows, living rooms, laneways and garages getting filled with people, music, art and being torn apart!

You probably weren’t there. It wasn’t a big deal. The shows, these releases and artists aren’t trying to get all the attention. They aren’t necessarily trying to break through. They’re trying to be relevant and honest. So this book documents how Matheson and his people brought it all into being via that same organic zero-bullshit way. Its the end of the year as we know it..

What a year.

What a huge year.

So many things happened, so much new ground, history and monumental changes. Also..a lot of sick music made it’s way to our earholes. I have collected what were the 10 most impacting releases that I spent time with over 2017.

Dead Space – The Liquid Sky (2017)

Black metal and post rock…not the most likely of bedfellows but the wizards in WA’s Dead Space have managed a coupling of unequalled clarity and smoothness. Not words you might expect to hear used in describing a band in this genre.
